What we collect, why we collect it, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
This is placeholder copy, not our terms.
The headings below are the shape of the document. The wording under each one has not been written or reviewed by anyone qualified to write it, and none of it is binding on Cooper or on you. Replace it before launch.
What we collect
The things you tell us when you set up a profile: your name and contact details, the roles you can do and how long you've done them, the hours you're available, the pay you'll work for, and a travel point with how far you'll travel from it.
Then the things that come from using Cooper: the roles you apply to, interviews you accept, shifts you work, timesheets, and ratings from employers you've worked for.
Why we collect it
To match you to work. Your availability, travel radius, pay floor and experience are what let us rank open roles against your profile and stop showing you jobs you can't take. Without them Cooper is a job board.
Who sees it
Employers see your profile when you apply to their role, or when you appear on their shortlist for it. They see what you can do and how you've rated on past shifts. They do not see your address, and no employer sees a profile for a role you haven't been matched to.
Public job adverts are anonymous in the other direction too: they don't name the venue or the employer.
Your location
We store a travel point and a radius, not a trail. We use it to work out how far a venue is from you and to filter out roles outside your radius. We don't track where you are.
Alerts and offers
We'll send you shift alerts and offers so you hear about work that fits you, along with the messages we need to send to run your account - interview times, timesheet approvals, and the like. You can turn the alerts off in your profile at any time; the account messages you can't, because they're how the platform talks to you.
How long we keep it
While your account is open, and for a period afterwards where we have to - records of work done and paid have their own retention rules. Everything else goes when you close your account.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold on you, correct anything that's wrong, or have it deleted. You can withdraw consent for the alerts without losing your account. Ask us and we'll do it.
Who we share it with
The services we need to run Cooper - hosting, our database, email delivery, identity checks, and mapping to turn an address into a point on a map. They act on our instructions and can't use your data for anything else.
Getting in touch
Ask us anything about your data and we'll answer. If you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
